Hoist Anchor

In the "Anchor game", children and other visitors get to work together to pull a ship forward using the anchor, and then finally hoist it up. The games objective includes collecting five coins that float on the water surface, if the players are too slow the coins sink away.

The capstan is quite heavy to pull around, therefore children need to cooperate to succeed in collecting all the coins before the time runs out. In order to adjust the difficulty of the game, it is possible to tighten the resistance of the capstan, it is also possible to make the boat travel more slowly, which means that you have to spin the capstan further in order for the ship to go forward.

Physical Capstan

The solution is created with the game engine Unity. The game's data entry is done by the users pushing around a physical capstan, which in turn creates data that is used to control the game.
